I'm Katherine Wu. Born and raised in San Francisco and studying at Rice University.
Archer
Originally inspired by Katniss from The Hunger Games, I have been pursuing archery competitively. I competed in World Cup Circuits, as well as won a gold medal at the Pan Am Championships in Colombia, South America.
Miss Chinatown USA
Every year, delegates representing Chinatowns across the US compete for the national title. Becoming Miss Chinatown USA has opened up many doors to wonderful opportunities and life long connections.
Performer
Dancing Chinese Dance and playing the Guzheng (Chinese Table Harp) has been a way for me to understand and embrace my cultural heritage. From the first time I heard the Guzheng at age 7, I fell in love with the traditional chinese instrument and have been playing it ever since. At age 9, I began to dance Chinese Classical and Folk Dances as a principal dancer with teachers from the famous Beijing Dance Academy.

Katniss

This 5 foot 4 inch long traditional Chinese instrument resembles the European harp.

Arrows
These barreled, aerodynamic arrows are made of aluminum wrapped in carbon fiber. I may or may not have given them names.
Film Festival
Aspiring surgeon and actress. Really wants a cameo appearance in Crazy Rich Asians.
Lunar New Year Parade
Sitting on the float at the finale of the Chinese New Year Paradewas an unforgettable experience. Felt very much like a Disneyworld ride somehow.
My companion
This bow travels the world with me. From SF to Korea, Rome, China, Colombia, and Turkey.
Dragon
Born the year of the Dragon, I'm strong and driven.
Performer
Ambassador for the Chinese American community. Performs Guzheng at City Hall and various venues to spread cultural awareness and promote Chinese traditions throughout the community.
